Likely published c.1955 (though 1951 date appears in book). ML #130.4. --- A very nice copy: clean and tightly-bound; but with discreet Kansas bookseller label to front free endpaper. A weakened rear hinge has been carefully reinforced prior to this listing. Unclipped dust jacket with sunned (but readable) spine and with minor chafing to edges; otherwise bright and intact; wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; 12mo 7" - 7-1/2" tall; xlv, 267 pages .

Synopsis

The Red Badge of Courage is an 1895 war novel by American author Stephen Crane. It is considered one of the most influential works in American literature. The novel, a depiction on the cruelty of the American Civil War, features a young recruit who overcomes initial fears to become a hero on the battlefield. The book made Crane an international success.
