Roxbury: Privately Printed for W. Elliot Woodward, 1864. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo. Two Volumes. Black leather over marbled boards. T.E.G. Marbled endpapers. 279; 287 pp., plus list of subscribers. Light rubbing to extremities. Some chipping to fore edges. Bookplates of C.B. Farwell to front pastedown. One of the earliest monographs to be printed covering the court transcriptions of the Salem Witchcraft Trials of 1692-93, of whom 200 were accused and 19 executed by hanging. This work includes witness testimony, indictments, examinations and executions of those who were convicted. Samuel Gardener Drake (1798-1875) was an American antiquarian, historian and founder of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. Howe, 666.
