London: The Harvill Press, 1948. First Publication in English of de Tocqueville's "recollections" of the French Revolution period. Pale cream covers with gold lettering to spine. Book in good condition with minor signs of wear and bumping to head and foot of spine. Pastedowns and endpapers of economy standard paper show paste marks. DJ carrying portrait of de Tocqueville intact but showing signs of general wear with a few nicks at extremities. Overall a decent copy. Ref:06678. First Thus. Cloth. G++/Good. 14cmx21.5cm.
