Stated First Edition/First Printing in the Original First Issue Dust Jacket with the $2.75 price present to the front flap; A Very Good book in a Good dust jacket. A handsome copy of this first US edition of the classic "Rebecca", the first US following the first UK edition by about a month in 1938; the first US much more scarce in today's marketplace, particularly in the original dust jacket. This copy is in very good condition with a square, tight binding, a bright silver band over maroon boards, and clean pages throughout; the book does show some light rubbing to the board edges, mild soiling along the band at the spine, moderate foxing to the pastedowns and free papers, and some faint spotting to the top exterior text block. Housed in a crisp and bright good or better original jacket that shows moderate chipping to spine ends, edges, and corners with a small loss of material, creasing and some closed tearing to the folds (jacket completely intact), a larger closed tear to the top of the back panel, and some small closed tears along the panel edges. Overall, a presentable and collectible copy of a very scarce book; in a protective sleeve and will ship carefully wrapped in a sturdy box.
