Wheeling, WV: Morning Call. Very Good; Covers soiled and creased.. 1941. Softcover. Green pictorial softcover. Unpaginated, but an inch-thick production. A spoof of the ubiquitous Sears and Roebuck mail order catalogues that graced many late 19th and 20th century American homes and was sometimes jokingly referred to as toilet paper for outhouse use, hence this collection of faux blank "toilet paper" sheets, interspersed with bound-in illustrated fake advertisements and loose printed items. The jokey catalogue has a hanging thread at crown, complete with cup hook on front free endpaper and illustrated instructions to "hang me up in your Castle of the Half Moon." The potty humor continues throughout the book with die-cut inserts, sand paper, wall paper, a paper packet of instructions about how to make your "moon shine" (more toilet paper inside, har, har) , jokes at the expense of women, WPA workers, Adolf Hitler, stock market workers, frugal Scots, New Dealers, politicians, farmers, and others. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
