Sello quarto, Año de mil setecientos noventa y seis" on p. 3 and 10. The first and last leaves partly, inner pages loose. Few underlines in pencil here and there. Otherwise in fine condition. First edition. Disbound from a larger volume. 10 [2 (blank)] p. First edition of Carlos IV's declaration of war on England.
The Spanish declaration of war on England, the beginning of the Anglo-Spanish War of 1796-1808. In the royal decree, Charles IV accuses England of violating the Nootka Convention of 1794, and of threatening to invade Spain's American possessions.
