About This Item

New York, NY Hearst Corporation: Avon Books, 1979. Paperback First Edition [1979]; First Printing, so stated. First Edition [1979]; First Printing, so stated. Near Fine in Wraps: shows only the most minute indications of use: just a hint of rubbing to a protective clear mylar cover which has been placed over over the outside of the book and affixed to the inside of the front and rear panels; else flawless. The binding is square and secure; the text is clean. Vitually 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 12mo. xv, 266 pages. Mass Market Paperback. This book was published thirty-five ago, but it's still interesting, particularly if you want to get a broader appreciation for science fiction in its formative eras. The authors profile giants in the field, summarize their most famous stories and then give suggestions for other authors whom you might like as well. There's a ton of useful reference material, like winners of Space Academy Awards, lists of Last and First Books, a (mostly "Painless History of Science Fiction", etc. Highly recommended.
