(In 8's), 15.5cm, 189,[22]pp., title page vignette, 8 text figures (naval), index (in Latin, Greek & French), rebound in perhaps 20th century panelled goat, gilt spine titles and device decorations, new coloured wallpaper endpapers, internally damp staining and some corresponding wrinkling throughout, good. (Ho1.1). ~ Text in Latin. "About clothing, vases and naval". An abridgement, edited by Charles Estienne, of a work by first published in 1537 by Lazare de Baif (1496 1547), a French scholar and diplomat. One of the earliest adaptations for children.
