The First UK Printing published by Dalrymple Press in 1986. Number 40 of a special limited edition of only 50 copies from a total edition of 750 copies. The BOOK is in near Fine condition being free from markings, erasures and inscriptions. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just a tiny amount of creasing at rear upper spine area. This special edition is accompanied by 'an Impression of the Alphabet Mug Design printed from the original copper plates. This design being in the possession of Wedgwood & sons Ltd and is numbered number 40/50'. This impression is in Fine condition with original tissue guard and folder present. Accompanied by the original publisher's Flyer and Prospectus for this title in near Fine condition with one crease to the latter where it has been previously folded. Accompanied by a Signed letter from Robert Dalrymple on the Press' headed paper to a subscriber to the previous owner of this title. 24 pages of colour illustrations of the Ravilious designs for Wedgwood with the finished pottery photographed in black and white. Further sections on a memoir to Ravilious by Robert Harling and a full catalogue. In the original slipcase in near Fine condition. Scarce. More images available on request.
