About This Item

French Fauvist painter who developed a colorful, decorative style that became fashionable for designs of ceramics and textiles, as well as decorative schemes for public buildings. 1 page Typed Letter Signed in French. Dufy writes of his gratitute to an unnamed photographer, who has photographed one of Dufy's paintings and provided that image as a gift. Dufy write in his hands:

"Cher Monsieur,
Veuillex croire, Cher Monsieur, a mes meilleurs sentiments." He signs "Raoul Dufy." The letter is a unique look at two artistic media coming together, and it reveals Dufy's pleasure at seeing his own work in a new format. Some wear to paper edges, overall in very good condition.
