A late 19th century recounting of the author's rambles among the ruins of Rome, and the areas around Vesuvius, Athens, Cairo, Palestine, Jerusalem, and Syria. Written by a minister of the Chicago Presbytery at a time when few people traveled to these areas of the world. Ships same or next business day. Some rubbing and fading to cloth coverboards; small bumps on corners and both ends of spine; previous owner's name in pencil on first blank page; pages are lightly tanned. Floral endpapers; embossed boards with gilt title. Clean text for a book published in 1887.; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 269 pages .
