About This Item
Philadelphia, PA: Penn Publishing Company, 1936. Hardcover. Acceptable/No Dust Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Roland V. Shutts. 315 pp. Tightly bound. Text free of markings. No ownership markings. No dust jacket. PLEASE NOTE: (1) On the second and third page in there is a small stain to the paper from an old paper clip that left a rusty mark. (2) There is foxing to the page edges. (3) The top corners are lightly bumped. This is an "acceptable to good" reading copy of the original 1936 publication. This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of bookbinding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block. This is the traditional and best method of bookbinding.
