Preserved in a removable jacket protector. Overall jacket condition is Very Good. Book: Scarce first printing of the first UK edition. Blue cloth binding. Light foxing to page edges, a few light spots to margins, otherwise in very clean condition throughout. First performed and published in the US in the previous year. This was the first Broadway production to be written by a black woman and the first with a black director. It won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for best play of 1959. Synopsis

A Raisin in the Sun is the best-known  work of author and playwright Lorraine Hansberry. It debuted on Broadway in 1959, making Hansberry the first African American woman to achieve this honor. The title comes from the poem "Harlem" by Langston Hughes.
