Sampson Low & Co., 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. Sixth Thousand. 452 pages. No dust jacket. This is an ex-Library book. Brown cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white illustrations. Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Binding remains firm with reinforcement to hinges. Front hinge is notably cracked, pages remain attached. Pages & illustrations are moderately tanned with mild brown staining and faint thumb-marking. Occasional tears, creases, and minor chipping to pages around edges and towards the gutters. Text is unaffected. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and noticeable rubbing to surfaces. Visible tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Faint white marks and scratches overall. Book has a notable forward lean.
