Raemakers was a Dutch artist and newspaper cartoonist who worked to get his native country to abandon its neutrality and join the war against Germany. He gave up the losing effort and joined the British-American propaganda machine, becoming highly popular in his new countries. The present books were released pretty much simultaneously with America's joining the war. They display one color cartoon per plate, tipped in, facing a page of commentary.
