LONDON: COUNTRY LIFE, 1939 Beige Cloth Boards with dark brown titles to spine and front , 220 x 175 mm approx. viii + 180 pp. 12 full page b/w illustrations by Nina Scott Langley as called for + numerous unspecified others in text. First Edition 1939. Country story for children aged 12-16 set on Romney Marsh Kent the principle character being Rachel a Ewe and the family into whose hands she falls. VG/VG (Book - slight damp stain marking to cloth at fore edge of both boards - not significant but worthy of mention, top edge of book block shelf dust soiled. No previous owner name or insc. Dust Jacket- 5 cm tear to top front panel - barely noticeable in the removable proprietary protective sleeve in which now housed. Otherwise very clean with only mild shelf rubbing with hint of foxing spots showing to rear panel. Non price clipped cover 5/-).
