About This Item
Berlin: Rich. Bong, c. 1880. Excellent. Notes: Joseph von Fraunhofer developed the spectrometer and the diffusion grid in the early 1800s, which enabled him to study the effect of light diffusion and establish the groundwork for the fields of light and optics. He studied the diffusion of sunlight and classified its dark absorption strips, which are to this day called "Fraunhofer lines".
