London, Hodder & Stoughton, 1917 [1923], First edition. . original red cloth, gilt lettering, near fine and clean. . 8vo [22.5 x 15 cm]; xxii, 23 - 338 pp, frontis, full page illustrations from photos, 3 folding maps at end. . Welch 85. Travels in Ecuador and Columbia, with much on geology, geography, nature, etc. This copy has the Publisher's Note tipped in, stating, 'This work was originally planned for publication in 1917, but owing to the War, its publication in Great Britain has been postponed until now, June, 1923', this note is absent in most copies, giving the appearance that the book was published in 1917 as stated on the title page. A picture of this book is available on request by email.
