1733-37: Johannes Pine, London. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine. The Robert Hoe copy with his bookplates. A very large paper copy (9.5 x 6") with the subscriber list. Two large 8vos in magnificent full red levant morocco, gilt paneled sides, dentelle inside borders, gilt tops, other edges uncut (rare thus), binding by David. A spectacular copy, binding flexible and tight. Contents completely fresh and clean. Second issue with the correction on p. 108 of Vol. II. Engraved frontispiece, 225 illustrations. Theodore Hoe (his sale 1911) to Theodore Low De Vine (his sale 1920). Lovely books.
