Book has mild edgewear, toning and rubbing, binding tight, text clean and unmarked but gently toned throughout. DJ has rubbing and toning, edgewear that includes some shallow chips, now in archival mylar.

Boards rubbed along bottom edges. Spine very slightly cocked and nudged at head and tail. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.

Extremely rare volume of poetry and essays by the early 19th century French author, poet and literary figure, Delphine de Girardin née Gay. This small (4.5 in. x 2.75 in.) volume is over 180 years old and is in excellent condition. Quarter bound in green leather and marbled paper. The spine is embossed with gilt scrollwork, title and author. The hinge is tight and the pages slightly yellowed with age, but still in fine, readable condition. Red Silk bookmark is still attached and faded only on the surface outside the book. No internal markings, bookplates or tears to pages. A remarkably preserved book for its age! There are no other similar copies of this vintage for sale on the Web!
