Description:
New York: McBride, 1938. First U.S. Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Fine/Very Good. 8vo., 256pp. Beautiful Stated First Edition, (US), published a year later than the UK first. Bound in orange cloth with titles in black on front board and spine. End-papers and paste-downs have facsimiles and translations of the Greek quotes left at a series of bank robberies, that is integral to the story. Square, tight and clean throughout with just some quite mild bumping to spine ends and a touch of wear at the tips. Remarkably well-preserved. Equally attractive unclipped, and quite scarce dust-jacket, ($2.00), has some edge-wear and a few tine closed tears. A bit of light soiling to white spaces. Still quite bright and colorful and impossible to find in any condition. A simply gorgeous collectible copy and uncommon in any condition. (Hubin p.270).
