À Bonn: chez Simrock [PN 309], 1803. First Simrock edition. In contemporary blue paper with handwritten oval title vignette on the front panel. First part (piano) bound into the other three loosely inserted. Ownership inscriptions on the front panel and title page by different hands. On title page, "Dietrich" on cover the same name overwritten by Carl Guhr, whose name also inscribed on the title vignette. Cover slightly dusted, stained, somewhat worn at spine. Foxing throughout, and occasional stains in all parts. Otherwise clean. Overall in very good condition.. First Simrock edition. In contemporary blue paper with handwritten oval title vignette on the front panel. First part (piano) bound into the other three loosely inserted. 19, (1); 6; 6; 4 p.


Carl Guhr's copy of this complete set with all four parts of Mozart's Piano Quartet No. 2.


Mozart composed Piano Quartet No. 2. in E-flat major in 1786, and it was first published in Vienna by Artaria in 1787.


The present copy belonged to Carl Guhr (1787-1848), the German violinist and composer, author of the book on Paganini's performing style Ueber Paganini's Kunst die Violine zu spielen (Mainz: Schott, 1829).


Scarce, RISM lists only seven copies in institutional holdings.
