About This Item
London: Heinemann, 1969 . First edition. Hardback. Very Good Indeed. 11" by 8.5". Helen Oxenbury. A brightly illustrated, first edition of this humorous tale of the Quangle Wangle's hat, by popular children's author and poet, Edward Lear. First edition, in the publisher's original pictorial boards. This charming tale tells the story of the Quangle Wangle Quee, who sits on top of the crumpetty tree, while a whole manner of creatures build their homes in his wide-brimmed hat. Written by popular artist, author and poet, Edward Lear, who is best-known for his literary nonsense in the form of poetry and prose such as is visible in this work. Profusely illustrated with beautiful colour drawings by English illustrator Helen Oxenbury. In the publisher's original pictorial boards. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing to the extremities and a little creasing to the head and tail of the spine. The odd mark to the boards, with a very small patch of loss to the paper on the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean, with the occasional handling mark. Very Good Indeed
