London: Sampson Low, Son, and Marston, 1867. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Gustave Dore. None. None Full Black Morroccan Leather Cover with five band spine. Impressed and guilt on cover, spine, and back cover. Very old leather repair strip between front cover and spine. Book shows some use/age cracking along each side of spine, but still solidly intact. Inside cover and and endpaper has a reinforced strip repair of strengthen the cover and spine connection. Some foxing throughout. Pages are bright and clean. Illustrations are crisp and not bleeding to opposite pages. Beautiful Marbled endpapers with Guilt floral patterns on the leather edges. Contains nearly 100 illustrate by Gustave Dore; and a New Map of the Pyrenees. “Map shewing the Principal Routes Described in The Pyrenees “. Printed by W. Clowes and Sons, London.
