About This Item
N.p.: N.p., 1960. Two vintage borderless reference photographs of Alain Delon and Marie Laforêt from the 1960 French film. Provenance stamps and cropping annotations in manuscript pencil and ink on the versos, and one date-stamped March 8, 1960.
Based on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel "The Talented Mr. Ripley." One of the greatest of the French post-noirs, and easily one of the finest adaptations of Highsmith's work.
Set and shot on location in Rome and Naples.
Both photographs approximately 9.25 x 6.75 inches. Very Good plus, one lightly curled, and one with light toning on the bottom left corner of the recto.
Criterion Collection 637. Grant France. Rosenbaum 1000.
