Terry Schupbach-Gordon: "This book was made to celebrate puppets and those who make them. The theaters and puppets included are from South Africa, England, Canada, Europe, Brazil, and the US. Many are still rocking the puppet stage today. This project actually began about 40 years ago while I was teaching at Kenyon College. At the time I thought it would be a simple list of historical puppet characters, romping on pages, and taking bows. What I know now is that it is a ride through my own love, passion, and commitment to puppets and their makers. "Your book includes a 'curtain call' after the colophon with a list of webpages of many of the theaters and puppeteers as well as a loose leaf ERRATA page in order to update the A and the Y puppeteer websites. So, finally after so many years, and so many fits and starts ... here come the puppets!"
