Near Fine. pp24 A collection of poems in Yorkshire dialect and standard English by B P Luxton who was a master at Ilkley Grammar School and tutor for the Workers' Educational Association. Near fine in glossy card wrappers bound with a red wavy tape. Signed by the author and inscribed "For Walter Stein who gave me strength when I most needed it". This book comes from the collection of Walter Stein, a British writer, literary critic and Catholic moral philosopher. Born in 1922, Stein was a Jewish refugee from pre-war Austria, educated by the Quakers in York and eventually a Catholic convert who worked in the Department of Extramural Studies at Leeds University.
