About This Item

Sacramento: University of California Publications, 1913. This hefty volume is in Very Good condition (click on photo). The book includes contributions of the Berkeley Astronomical Department. Articles are by A.O. Leuschner, Adelaide M. Hobe, R.H. Curtiss, C.G. Dall, Burt L. Newkirk, and R.T. Crawford. Topics include determining orbits, tables for the reduction of photographic measures, and astronomical refraction, etc. Numerous tables and formulas are included. The book is bound in black cloth with die-stamped gilt lettering on front panel and spine. The cloth shows some rubbing on the top edge of the rear panel, as well as light spine tip rubbing. There is a gift inscription on the front end paper, as well as some tiny chips to front endpapers. The Title Page shows a rectangular patch of browning, where someone had inserted an acidic newspaper clipping. Other than that, the pages are white, clean, and bright throughout, and the binding is secure. The book measures 9 5/8 by 11 3/4 inches and includes 503 pages. Due to the six-pound shipping weight, domestic Media Mail shipping will be adjusted to total $6.99 following the initial order. . First Edition. Hard Cover.
