Providence, Rhode Island: Yankee Notion Printing Co, 1880. Very good overall. Racist trade card illustrated with a lithograph cartoon depicting a foot race in which the contestants are an Irish man and a Chinese man, the Irish man wearing a top hat & carrying a shillelagh as the Chinese man, with flying pigtail, attempts to kick him.

The cartoon caption reads, "Which shall it be?" Signed Bufford, Boston at the lower right.

The verso printed with advertising text for the furniture company, "the largest, lowest priced and most popular house furnishing store in New England". Located at Broad Street, near Mathewson, Providence, R. I. 4 1/2 x 2 3/4". Evenly toned.
