New York: Church Hymnal Corporation, 1976. First edition. Original Cloth. Very Good. 5 1/2 x 7 3/4 inches. 1001 numbered pages. A few pages with old notes now occluded, and previous owner's bookplate, otherwise pages clean. Bound in original black cloth with gilt cross to front cover and gilt title to spine. Griffiths 1976/3. A very good copy of the first edition of the 1979 revision of the American Prayer Book (currently in use), variously known at the time as the "blue book" or the "groundhog book" due to the peculiarities of its publication.
