About This Item

British Library. 2000. 80pp., orig. cloth. The autograph manuscript of Wilde's "De Profundis" has been reproduced in this limited edition from the British Library. Written on blue prison paper, it is a confessional letter from Reading gaol addressed to Lord Alfred (Bosie) Douglas. It is a defence of Wilde's opinions and conduct, and reads emotionally and lyrically when he is describing the depth of his feelings for his sometime friend. It is a unique opportunity to obtain a facsimile of this important literary document.
