Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. 1689 First Edition. Size 12.25" x 7.75", 140 pages. Bound in brown tree calf with raised bands and gilt titles on a red panel on the spine. Condition very good, a little rubbing to covers and edges, Charles Stanley in small neat hand on the title page else contents very clean. With the bookplate of Sir Joseph Verdin Bart. Beautiful frontispiece with portraits of William, Archbishop of Canterbury and the six other accused men. Full title: "The Proceedings and Tryal in the Case of The Most Reverend Father in God William, Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, And the Right Reverend Fathers in God, William Ld. Bishop of Asaph, Francis Lord Bishop of Ely, John Lord Bishop of Chichester, Thomas Lord Bishop of Bath and Wells, Thomas Lord Bishop of Peterborough, and Jonathan Ld. Bishop of Bristol.
