A revised edition of Bishop of Chester and theologian Francis Gastrell's (1662-1725) popular assault on deism, first printed in 1708, a further six editions appeared before 1729. Gastrell argues that deism and skepticism, despite apparent oppositions, ultimately generate the same confounding doubts. ESTC T57643.. Second edition, corrected. 8vo.
