Very Good. 5 1/4 x 7 3/4 inches. 3 ffep + 64 (of 66) numbered pages + iv + (96 of) 98 numbered pages + 2 page booksellers catalogue + 2 rfep. Ffep with near contemporary inscription of Nicholas, Thomas and Joseph Newlin. Tear to title page professionally repaired without loss. Lacking pages 31-32 and 43-44. Pages 27-28 torn with loss of bottom half. Pages with typical yellowing. Bound in three quarter brown calf with light brown boards which are worn and stained. Hinges starting. Tail of spine chipped. ESTCW27849. A very good copy of Penn's apology for the Quakers.
