London: George Routledge & Sons, 1876. Hardcover. Good. 8vo, red cloth boards with gilt titles on spine and black titles on front. Bevelled edges, patterned endpapers, rear free endpaper absent. Undated circa 1880, published introduction / dedication dated May 1875. Xvi + 304pp. A historical tale based on the seige of Preston when around 4000 Jacobites were surrounded by the English government forces. After putting up considerable resistance, they eventually surrendered and many were transported.
