London, Oxford University Press, 1964.. FIRST EDITION 1964, 4to, 265 x 275 mm, 10½ x 10¾ inches, red cloth backed colour illustrated boards, (32) pages. A factual and informative book with lively humorous black and white illustrations filling every page. Small corner crease to front endpaper, no inscriptions. A Fine copy in VG+ DUSTWRAPPER (dw: not price clipped but with small new price label stuck over original, one 15 mm (¾") closed tear to top edge of upper panel, touch of wear to head and tail of spine and corners, small faint stain to upper panel, looks like part of illustration). Papas was born in 1927 in S. Africa, he had a Greek father and a German mother. He worked as a newspaper cartoonist first in S. Africa and from 1959 for the Guardian and later the Sunday Times.
