Sons - and daughters - from John Adams to FDR, and, including the adopted sons of Andrew Jackson and George Washington. "But, with rare exceptions, even adult sons have failed to receive any notice from those who have chronicled the activities of their fathers. In fact, they have been purposely excluded - Foreword." HOWEVER, Perling argues ( p. 30) that George Washington Adams, eldest son of Pres. John Quincy Adams, was ineligiible to become President of the U.S.A. because he was born in Germany, and further, that J.Q.A. and his First Lady were convinced of that fact.
