About This Item

University Of Chicago Press, 1993. First edition. Hardcover. As New/as new. As new in dust jacket. First edition/printing. Hardcover. xv+ 217 pp. with index. Illustrations. Over the course of fifteen years, from 1877 to 1892, Dr. Thomas Neill Cream murdered seven women in England and North America. All seven were prostitutes seeking abortions and all fell victim to Dr. Cream's favorite weapon, strychnine. The popular press called the killings the work of one or more madmen but in fact they were the first well-documented serial murders in the English-speaking world.
