Half-title and Title Page (dated 1834) for the Cabinet Cyclopaedia, follwed by an Illustrated Title Page depicting a Bust of Aristotle. Interesting and detailed work by William Swainson. Part I, The Rise and Progress of Zoology (starting from Aristotle & Pliny). Part II, General Nature of Natural History. Part III, Principles. Part IV, Present State of Zoological Science. Original Plum coloured Cloth cover with Printed Paper Label on spine. Page edges untrimmed. 397 Pages, 390g, 7" Tall. Spine faded and some fading to cloth and a few very small pieces of cloth missing (see photos). Most of the Paper label missing from spine. Hinges sound and Text block firm. Pages in very good clean condition. No inscriptions except penciled price on free endpaper. Dr. Lardner's Cabinet Cyclopaedia was a wide ranging, detailed Work having many eminent Contributors.
