About This Item

London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1946. First edition. Cloth. Very Good/Fair. 7.5" by 5". None. A first edition of Isherwood's novel, based on his experience on a film set. Christopher William Bradshaw Isherwood (26 August 1904 – 4 January 1986) was an English novelist. While living in Hollywood, California, Isherwood befriended Truman Capote, an up-and-coming young writer who would be influenced by Isherwood's Berlin Stories, most specifically in the traces of the story "Sally Bowles" that surface in Capote's famed novella, Breakfast at Tiffany's. In a purple cloth binding with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, sound. Some light fading to the spine and very light sunning to boards; with a few marks. The dust wrapper has some spotting and fading, some closed tears and some loss, with the inner front panel detached but still present. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and generally clean with scattered spotting. Very Good
