Pictorial map boards of Chase County, Kansas, this copy also has a decorative stamp of Chase County on half title page. SIGNED “Heat Moon” on half title page. Includes the uncommon insert from October 19, 1991 (stamped with printed Heat-Moon signature) in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas: “This first edition copy of PrairyErth was signed by the author and stamped with the official PrairyErth Day Commemorative Seal depicting the Chase County Courthouse on October 19, 1991 in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. One thousand, five hundred and four books were signed during festivities that day which also included music, dancing, exhibits of local history, hay rack rides, and ice cream social, and a buffalo barbecue attended by some three thousand sold.”
