Binding tight, owner name and bookplate on front endpaper, clean and unmarked but for a few scattered checkmarks and an underlined formula in the rear appendix section. Based in part on "Bowman's Medical Chemistry". Black and white illustrations throughout. Contents include: Preface. Introduction.Manipulation: solution, extraction,extracion, filtration, dialysis, evaporation, dessication, incineration; I. Organic Proximate Principles Taking Part in the Animay Economy: [various preparations, detection and analyses of] fatty acids, lactic acid, oxalic acid, succinic acid, benzoic acid, glucose, cholesterol, urea, hippuric and uric acids, xanthine and hypoxanthine, carnine, oxalic acid, creatin and creatiniin, leucine, tyrosine, neurine or choline, glycocholic acid, taurocholic acid, lecithine, cystine, albuminoid bodies and substances resembling them, animal pigments; II. Analysis of Secretions, Excretions, etc.: urine, urinary sediments, urinary calculi, blood, serous liquids, pus, extracts of the muscular tissues, juices of glandular organs, bone, teeth and bony structures, saliva, gastric juice, bile, milk, spermatic fluid, excrements, analysis of the ash of animal substances; III. On the Detection of Poisons: Precautions to be taken in chemico-legal investigations, arsenic, antimony, tin, mercury, lead, copper, zinc, detection of acids, hydrocyanic acid, phosphorous, alkaloids -(onine, nicotine, morphine), detection of alcohol in organic mixtures, chemical examination for the detection of a poison the nature of which is unknown (volatile poisons, alkaloids, metallic poisons); Appendix: volumetric analysis, preparation of normal solutions, estimations of carbonic acid gas, ammonia, combined acid in neutral salt, standard solutions, weights and measures. International orders are sent using First Class Mail International (Standard option) or Priority Mail International (Expedited option). Shipping rates are determined the actual costs by method, weight, size of package and geographic destination.

Our shipping fees are based on average books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. To reduce your costs, we can use the more economical flat rate services whenever possible if your order will fit into the required packaging, but please be aware many books will NOT be eligible for this option. Shipping rates are based upon actual cost to destination and average book size and weight. Other options may be available depending on your specific location and the size of your package. Where applicable, international customers are responsible for paying any required customs duties, fees and taxes as required by their country. We want your complete satisfaction. Items may be returned for a refund for any reason. We request that the returned item(s) be in the same condition received, unused and carefully repacked, and returned within 10 business days by an insured or traceable shipping method.
