LONDON: GEORGE ALLEN & UNWIN, 1983 Full Brown Morroco Leather boards with five raised bands gilt lettering and decs to spine and gilt framed border to front and rear boards in slip case with matching leather fore edges, brown silk endpapers to book and silk marker, all edges gilt, x + 221pp. 27 b/w photo. illustrations as called for.First Edition 1983 in a presentation binding.Centenial History of STC established in 1883 as an agency of the giant American Company Western Electric to market the Telephone, barely 7 years after it had been patented by Alexander Graham Bell. The copy offered by us is inscribed to Alex Park one of the directors in February 1983 by the author on the title page. There is also a typed list of the Directors of STC at the time of the Centenary tipped onto the reverse of the front free end paper and opposite on the front blank the entire board including the Chairman and Chief Executive Sir Kenneth Corfield; HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Lord Keith of Castleacre, Lord Penney and 10 others have signed the book. (a total of 15 signatories including the author) The only signature absent seems to be J.E.Samson. VG+ (book- binding tight with no other previous owner name or inscription. Slip case has a couple of glue type marks. No other notable defects to book or slipcase. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale
