London, Collins, 1937.. FIRST EDITION 1937, 245 x 245 mm, 9¾ x 9¾ inches, cloth backed colour illustrated boards, no pagination (44). Pretty coloured illustration on every page. Text in 'handwritten' script printed grey with proper names printed in various colours. Crowds of little dressed mice, hedgehogs, rabbits, a tortoise, moles and others. Corners and board edges just very slightly worn, tiny chip to surface at top edge of upper cover, white areas on upper cover showing a little very pale spotting, spine faded, very slight faint foxing to endpapers. 2 closed margin tears, 30 and 20 mm (1¼" and ¾"), expertly repaired, contents otherwise very bright.
