Blue-green cloth in unclipped jacket. 112 pp. With a few black and white illustrations throughout. A history of shipbuilding in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area from around 1840 to 1860, documenting the boom in the sailing ship industry as a result of trade with China and other locales. This includes a look at the ships built, including names and dimensions, as well as various voyages undertaken, shipbuilder names, etc. VERY GOOD+ condition. Light toning and edgewear to the jacket.
