New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1931. Lytton Strachey (1880-1932), critic and biographer, was a founding member of the Bloomsbury Group; he won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1921. This is a Near Fine copy of the Second Printing of the First Edition. Green cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine. Clean text; 214 pages. Gift inscription (1931) on the front paste-down, spine lettering a bit dulled; else a Fine copy, very fresh. The dustjacket shows minor edgewear and the green color is still bright; a 3/4" chip at the foot of the spine keeps it from a higher grade. In an archival plastic protector. An attractive volume and a great read. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Second Printing.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good.
