Title metioned in the . description of this work is taken from the lettering on the spine.. 1829[?]. Half Leather. Apparently, this work is related to "Collection de portraits historiques de M. Le Baron Gerard". Half-leather, marbled boards, measuring 45.5cm x 32 cm. With gilt lettered leather spine with five raised gilt bands. The 70 etchings of personages of the era of the French Revolution portrayed by Gerard and etched by Adam are identified by handwritten titles in pencil below the portraits in a very elegant, flourished manner. The plates are dated 1825-1827. Loosely inserted are three additional plates as follows: Marie Louise, Duchesse de Montebello, and Josephine. Herewith follows the bound portraits: Roi de Saxe, Alexandre, Napoleon, General Foy, Madam Grassalkowich, Isabey, Famille Auguste, Murat, Mlle. Joseph, Madam Tallien, Princesse Stephanie de Bade, Duc du Berry, Lady Gersey, Reine Hortense, Princesse de Bassano, Madame Murat, Murat General, Charles X (x2) , Wellington, Renault de St. Jean Dangely, Henry Egerton, Duchesse du Berry, Duc de Berry, Reine Hortense, Madam Bernadotte, Madam Letizia, Princesse Talleyrand, etc. With 70 etchings by Pierre Adam of portraits after Gerard. Plate marks measure 27cm x 19.5 cm. Sheet sizes measure 43 x 29.5 cm. Not at Yale, Harvard, Columbia, or the Library of Congress. ; Folio 13" - 23" tall .
