Printed by Strangeways and Walden, Printers at Castle St. Leicester Sq. Preface by author: " It is hoped that this Volume may be used by Heads of Families, who wish to give some short simple instructions to their Servants and Children; also by Cottagers as a book to read on Sunday evenings. " 278 pp. plus 4 pp. advertising works by the Rt. Rv. as well as 2 pp. advertising the Barham Tracts and The Pluckley Tracts ( Old and New Testaments) Dark brown ep's. Front and rear boards have beveled edges, gilt text on front and spine, black line decorations front, back and spine. Book has scuffed corners and spine ends, only gauze remains to hold text block at front and rear interior hinges. No loose pages. 33 biblical portraits and the lesson to be learned from each one.
