In the original price-clipped dustwrapper, colourfully illustrated by the author.Cecil Beaton's vivid and humorous travel work, looking at his time in New York before the Second World War. Slightly satirical, this work looks at the lives of New Yorkers and Beaton's impressions of the bustling city.Illustrated with a frontispiece, sixty-two plates of photographs, and in-text illustrations.Collated, complete.Beaton is a renowned fashion, portrait, and war photographer, well known and loved for his stage and costume design for films and theatre. He won Academy Awards for his costume design for the films 'Gigi' and 'My Fair Lady'.A revised edition. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the spine and extremities. Spine is a little spotted, with some spots to the fore edge. Dustwrapper is edgeworn, with some small chips and closed tears. Backstrip of the dustwrapper is discoloured, with some light spots to the wraps. Light spots to the reverse of the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some scattered spots to the first and last few pages. Very Good Indeed
