Laid in is a signed letter from the then (1986) President of Italy, Francesco Cossiga, thanking the British Ambassador for a copy of the book which he had given him. In the original Oxford binding of navy cloth, spine titled in gilt, bright and firm, corners sharp, foot of spine blunted. In the protected price-clipped dust jacket, bright and clean, spine sunned from purple to maroon. Very nice copy.
